Bookkeeping for UK companies · kept remotely from South Africa
Clean books.Kept by one person.
For owner-managed UK companies that appoint a remote South African bookkeeper. Not a platform, not a pool. One person who knows your books and answers in writing.
Reply within one working day. A fixed price, or a plain no.
Who this is for
Owner-managed companies, roughly 1 to 20 people.
- Your books are behind.Months of arrears, or a year rebuilt in a panic the week before the accountant asks.
- You already have an accountant, or will get one.We keep the books clean and current so their bill stays about advice, not data entry.
- You do not want a pool. You want the same person each month, who remembers why that supplier is coded that way.
- Your software is already chosen.QuickBooks, Sage Evolution, Microsoft GP, or a spreadsheet you would rather not discuss.
What you get
The monthly work, and the mess before it.
- Monthly bookkeeping, kept current.Bank, debtors, creditors, supplier records, reconciliations. In your login, not ours.
- A short plain-English note each month. What the numbers say, what to look at, what is still missing from you.
- Catch-up cleanups.Duplicated entries, personal spend sitting in the business, unclear supplier lists, suspense accounts that no longer balance.
- A fixed monthly fee.Quoted in writing after we see the state of the books. No surprise invoices.
What this refuses to be
The line, said out loud.
- No VAT returns and no Making Tax Digital filings. If you are VAT-registered, we are not your whole answer.
- No page of services pretending to be a service. If a job is outside the line, it gets named, not absorbed.
- No agency that passes your books to whoever is free that week.
- No tax advice. That belongs to your accountant, and pretending otherwise costs you.
Proof, until there is a client to point at.
This business is new. There is no client reference yet, and we would rather say that than decorate the gap.
So the first real cleanup is done at cost. In return we ask for one thing: a written reference, with your company named, that you are happy for us to publish. That is the trade. After that, this page can point at a person instead of a promise.
The work starts with the bank statements, not the software. Every line matched, every suspense entry re-coded or explained, duplicate supplier records merged, personal spend separated and listed. If the figures cannot be made to match the bank, you are told that too.
Cleanup note — [Company] Ltd, [month range] 1. Bank reconciled to [closing balance] on [date]. Difference £0.00. 2. [n] duplicate supplier records merged: [two examples]. 3. [n] transactions were personal spend; re-coded to Director's loan and listed for your accountant. 4. [n] lines in suspense: [reason], now coded or explained. 5. Still open: [the one thing that needs a document from you].
Numbers and names are blanked on purpose. The shape of the note is real; the data is not someone else's.
Who you are writing to
Twenty years in finance roles: bookkeeper, credit controller, senior accountant, financial controller, stock accountant. Payroll administration to NQF Level 4. QuickBooks online, Sage Evolution, Microsoft GP, Excel.
You get one point of contact who does the work, not an account manager who forwards it. Everything in writing, including the bad news.
